Story

Katy's journey to trauma-informed massage therapy

Katy spent five years in hospice care, supporting people through their most vulnerable moments. That work taught her how to hold space with presence and compassion. When she experienced her own burnout and nervous system dysregulation, she found healing through somatic practices and yoga. Now she brings that lived wisdom to every session.

Questions

Learn more about Katy, The Quiet Room, and how sessions work.

Why focus on women's wellness?

Women carry stress differently in their bodies, especially through hormonal transitions and life changes. Katy creates a space where women feel truly heard and held. This focus allows for deeper, more personalized care.

How does creativity shape your approach?

Katy integrates sewing, voice work, and somatic exploration into her philosophy because healing isn't one-dimensional. Creative practices help access nervous system regulation in ways that pure technique cannot.

What makes The Quiet Room different?

The Quiet Room is a hand-built sanctuary inside The HAP, a creative upcycled space shared with a boutique and hair studio. It's rooted in curiosity and healing, not clinical efficiency.

Is this appropriate during pregnancy?

Yes. Katy has five years of prenatal and postnatal support experience. Sessions are modified for safety and comfort at every stage.

Do you work with grief and burnout?

Absolutely. Katy's background in hospice care and lived experience with burnout inform every session. She knows how to hold space for deep emotional work.
